When and why did you start training for fighting? I was 17 years old when I joined high school wrestling and a kickboxing gym, and then I found my home at MTC and have been there ever since. I knew after I played hockey and joined boxing in the off-season that fighting was what I wanted to do.

Training: The days always change, from days being striking-based, to the next days being grappling-based. There’s a full mix-up for all-around MMA days and drills. It’s always something different to keep sharp and adapt to all situations.

What ranks and titles have you held? BTC super lightweight belt, TXC lightweight belt for MMA. I have a few gold, silver and bronze medals in wrestling, Joslin’s grappling belt, FCFL welterweight belt (amateur MMA belt), Kyokushin bare-knuckle karate fighting.

Do you have any heroes? Goku

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC?  It means the world to me and is a dream come true. Now I have to keep working hard.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I didn’t go to college, just went straight to work and training to accomplish my dreams and goals.

What was your job before you started fighting? I worked in fast food and at Champs Sports. I also worked for Prepolec Construction as a handyman geared to income housing. Now I’m a personal trainer.

Favorite grappling technique: Triangle and D’Arce chokes

Favorite Striking technique: Three-piece and a soda.
