Dana White's Contender Series, Season 9

Episode 3 (8/26/25) Barbosa stopped Damon Wilson via strikes at 4:14 of the first round

When and why did you start training for fighting? I got into martial arts when I was 13 years old after a friend got me interested in training.

Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? Luta Livre World and Brazilian champion

Any belts/ ranks in grappling disciplines? Luta Livre brown belt

Any belts/ ranks in striking disciplines? Muay Thai dark blue

What has been your toughest fight to date and why? Gabriel Santos, who is currently in the UFC, was my toughest fight. It was a war in the LFA, he was able to turn the tables and ended up winning.

Who is your favorite fighter and why? TJ Dillashaw.

What was your job before you started fighting? I cooked burgers at a restaurant which I still own in my hometown. Currently I have been living at my coach’s house for the past 5 years in Rio, totally dedicated to MMA.

Origin of nickname: My brother started calling me “Ticoto” when we were kids, not really any reason behind it.

Personal Life / Background: No kids, my life is 100% dedicated to my career.

Who are 3 people you'd love to meet or work with? TJ Dillashaw, GSP, Dustin Poirier.

What are your hobbies, activities or other interests when not training for a fight? My life revolves around my career. What I like to do most outside of training is eating. I’m here to pave my way to the title, I am certain of that.
