When and why did you start training for fighting? 2016. Was looking for some purpose in life, saw some UFC fights and thought, I wanna do that

What professional titles have you held? Shuriken Fight Series Bantamweight title

Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? 2019 IMMAF Oceania silver medal

Any belts/ ranks in grappling disciplines? BJJ purple belt

What has been your toughest fight to date and why? Caleb Lally. NZ MMA veteran in my 2nd fight. Hit him with everything and the kitchen sink and he was still unfazed. He dipped into one of my knees and the look on his face did not change. Torrid, high paced fight.

What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why? RTU S4 opening round vs Zhang Qinghe. Mixed the martial arts, showed my inner dog and pulled the win out of my arse

Who is your favorite fighter and why? Can't say I have a singular favourite.

  • Alexander Volkanovski - work ethic, game planning, great human
  • Ilia Topuria and Jack Della Maddalena - boxing and head movement
  • Yuki Yoza – kicks

Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? Perfecting my craft, self-improvement, rage

Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? My mum

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? University of Auckland, Bachelor of Engineering. (Earned in September 2025)

What was your job before you started fighting? A recurring joke at the gym is that all the people attending the fight team training sessions are jobless. I was doing retail before and while I was fighting. Also did exterior plastering while fighting.

Origin of nickname: The romanization for the Cantonese pronunciation of my Chinese name

Personal Life / Background: Born in Hong Kong. Mum, dad and brother moved to Auckland, NZ in 1999. Grew up in the mean streets of East Auckland

Who are 3 people you'd love to meet or work with? Gordon Ramsay, Demetrious Johnson, Natalie Portman

What are your hobbies, activities or other interests when not training for a fight? Mainly training for the sake of training. At the gym all year round to chase perfection of skill.  Cooking, hiking, cycling, gaming
