When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training in 2013 out of love for this sport.

What professional titles have you held? Rei da Selva Middleweight Champion

Any belts/ranks in grappling disciplines? Jiu-Jitsu black belt, dark blue level in Muay Thai.

What fight do you consider the most important in your career so far and why? The most important fight of my career was on the Contender Series. It would be very difficult to have another opportunity to enter the biggest organization in the world, the UFC.

Who is your favorite fighter and why? Jon Jones, because of his versatility.

Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? My hero is my mother. She raised me always trying to give me the best, even coming from a poor family. She has been my biggest motivation in my studies and now in my fighting career.

Is there a cause you’d like to support using your platform? I would like to support social work that helps underprivileged people through sports.

Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? My biggest motivation is my family. I’m always working to change our reality.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Yes - Civil Engineering

What was your job before you started fighting? Engineering

Personal Life/Background: My life outside of fighting is centered around my family. I have three kids—Christian (12), Aysha (7), and Liz (1). I also have a pitbull named Arizona. My hobbies include being involved in sports with friends. I usually play soccer, footvolley, and get together to watch games and the UFC.

What is one thing you want UFC fans around the world to know about you? What I want them to know is that I’m a warrior who is constantly evolving, and I won’t stop until I reach the top. I still have a lot to improve, and I keep training to show what everyone expects to see inside the Octagon.
