When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training when I was eight years old because I was chubby, and then, I saw that this was what I wanted for my life.

Who is your favorite fighter, and why? My favorite fighter is José Aldo because of his life story and how he overcame all the difficulties he faced in life, and also because of the champion he became. Today I can say that he is a personal friend of mine, and that has only made me see even more that he is a great inspiration.

Do you have any heroes outside of fighting? I always say that my hero outside of fighting is my father, because he has always been someone who did everything for me and my family. He is also the one who introduced me to the world of fighting, and I’m very grateful for that.

Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports? I was Amazonian amateur MMA champion, Muay Thai champion, Amazonian jiu-jitsu champion.

What are your current ranks in martial arts? I am a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and hold a black grade in Muay Thai.

What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career? This is the most important fight of my life because I waited a long time for this moment. I trained a lot for it. It’s my debut, and I’m very motivated.

Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for? My main cause is to motivate and inspire other people through my story and my career.

Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? What motivates me is being able to provide a better life for my wife, my daughter, and my family.

What was your job before you started fighting? Athlete since I was a kid.

Favorite Striking technique: Knee

Tell us about your life outside of fighting: I have a partner, my wife, and a 7-month-old daughter. My hobby is enjoying my free time with both of them.

What is one thing that you want UFC fans to know about you? In my fights, I’m always looking to knock out my opponents by being aggressive. One characteristic of mine is that I’m obsessed with my ultimate goal, which is becoming a champion.
