When and why did you start training for fighting? I played high level soccer my entire life, and other sports, as well. I was looking at using martial arts as a cross training piece to supplement my sports. I walked in the gym and never left.
Training: Most days I train twice a day. I wake up with a cup of coffee and walk the dogs, then off to the gym to grapple or hit pads and get some live rounds. The second session is usually the opposite of what I did in the morning or strength and conditioning with my savage coach.
What ranks and titles have you held? I am the amateur BFL Flyweight champ, the professional BFL Flyweight Champ, and the professional LFA Flyweight Champ.
Do you have any heroes? My family - I have the best support system and they push me every step of the way.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? This is the top of this sport. Fighting for the UFC solidifies all the hard work, dedication and ups and downs I’ve faced my whole career.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Quest University, Bachelor of Arts and Science. Capilano University, Human Kinetics.
What was your job before you started fighting? Retail Management at Squamish Source for Sports.
Specific accomplishments in amateur competition? BFL Amateur Flyweight Champ. I also hold the Squamish Days Logger Sports choker race title for seven years in a row.
