When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training when I was 13, 14 years old. I had a very busy childhood, and sport was the solution to seek greater things in my life. In Amazonas there are a lot of jiu jitsu academies, so the sport is there for everyone, and the possibility of changing my life, too. If it weren't for sport, I would have lost myself in the world.

Training: Training is divided between Muay Thai, wrestling and physical preparation with technical days and sparring days.

What ranks and titles have you held? I was champion in numerous jiu jitsu competitions in the Amazon. In MMA, I was champion of the Amazon Talent event and Mr. Cage, having the belt of my category.

Do you have any heroes? My real hero was my grandfather. He was my father figure and he taught me to be a real man, may God bless him. In fighting, a guy I'm a fan of and I have the opportunity to be one of his sparring partners is Charles Oliveira, who is a sensational guy.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? The realization of a dream. I trained my whole life for this, I did all kinds of training and today being able to fight on the biggest stage in the world for me will be wonderful. God is wonderful! I'm coming and I'm going to carve my name in the organization.

What was your job before you started fighting? I worked since childhood at the fair, selling fish, cheese, lemons, and whatever else could make money.
