When and why did you start training for fighting? I started in TKD and karate when I was just 5 years old. I’ve always grown up naturally in love with martial arts from an early age, taking BJJ and kickboxing classes as a teenager and wrestling in high school. I felt this was always my destiny. I fight to represent my Vietnamese people, I fight to one day be one of the greatest and I fight because this is my passion.

What ranks and titles have you held? EFC featherweight belt, #5 ranked in Kansas

Do you have any heroes? My parents. Without them as my role models in life, I would have never been able to make it in my career. Seeing how hard they work from nothing to something truly motivates me every day. They are my heroes every day.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? The UFC is the Olympics of fighting, and this means that I am amongst the best fighters in the world. This means everything; this is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a young kid of 16 when I started my amateur career. I now have the opportunity to pursue something I love as a career.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to Wichita State University and got a degree in Marketing and Management

What was your job before you started fighting? Personal trainer at TITLE Boxing.

If any list specific accomplishments in amateur competition? I went 9-1 MMA. 1-0 Boxing,

  1. Kickboxing, and held a couple regional belts for Shamrock FC and Black & Gold Promotions

Ranks in any martial arts styles: BJJ Blue Belt

Favorite grappling technique: Guillotine, any chokes, body slams

Favorite striking technique: Spinning back kick
