Benson Henderson defeats Jorge Masvidal
In what turned out to be a very technical fight, Benson Henderson pulled off the victory via split decision (49-46, 48-47, 47-48).

They said it:
Benson Henderson: “I had a good fight, I’m thankful I got my hand raised. It was fun, I enjoyed it, let’s keep doing it. Hats off to Jorge for giving me this fight, whose is super tough. The hardcore fans know how tough Jorge is. I’m not afraid of hard work so I ask you, was that good enough?”
Jorge Masvidal: “It’s the nature of the beast, next time. I had about a week to prepare for a 5 round fight.”

Dong Hyun Kim defeats Dominic Waters
Kim showed his pedigree in this matchup. The Korean fighter got Waters exactly where he wanted him, took him to the ground, and then proceeded to ground-and-pound him from the crucifix position leading to the referee stoppage after 3:11 mark in the 1st Round for the TKO victory.

They said it:
Dong Hyun Kim: "When everyone said I had an easy opponent, I tried to be even more cautious. I thought this match will go up to 3 rounds but luckily I found a chance early that led to a quicker finish. I will make my title match happen next year right here in Korea.”

Alberto Mina defeats Yoshihiro Akiyama

A very unpopular decision with the home crowd, but Alberto Mina takes it by split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29).

They said it:
Alberto Mina: “I had another plan in mind but his kicks really started to hurt so I started to change my plan. I’m great with the result, its the greatest result of my career. My goodness his kicks really hurt!”

Doo Ho Choi defeats Sam Sicilia

WOW! Sicillia just ran into “The Korean Superboy” early in the bout and Choi hit him with everything he had, knocking him out for the victory just 1:33 into the fight.

They said it:
Doo Ho Choi: "There were few dangerous moments but the cheer from home fans gave me strength to avoid them. The victory feels amazing and it feels like the hard work paid off. Before entering the fight, I had thought about finishing him in the first round and thats what it was”

UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Masvidal UFC FIGHT PASS prelims

Dongi Yang defeats Jake Collier
Yang punched his way to victory in this one! Yang had control through stretches of this fight, but Collier almost pulled off a knee bar in the 2nd Round until Yang got out of it and then went punch happy with hammer fists and other strikes against Collier until referee Herb Dean stepped in to declare a TKO victory at 1:52.

They said it:
Dongi Yang: "It's hard to think straight at a moment like this. There was no particular strategy - I just went at it and I'm very happy for the victory”

Mike de la Torre defeats Yui Chul Nam

How did neither fighter go down? Both “The Korean Bulldozer” Nam and “El Cucuy” de la Torre threw significant strikes throughout the 15 minute affair. It ended up being a razor-thin margin on the judges’ scorecard with De la Torre earning the win by split decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29).

They said it:
Mike de la Torre: “We both really threw some heavy shots, I kind of expected him to wrestle more. I didn’t expect that so I adapted and moved to play the angles more.”
Yui Chul Nam: "I'm disappointed but I did my best.”

Tae Hyun Bang vs. Leo Kuntz
Power punches, submission attempts … this fight had a little bit of everything! Bang and Kuntz were warriors throughout this clash, leaving all they had in the Octagon as they went the distance. Both fighters were left gasping for air after exchanging hard blows and doing everything but finish the other in 15 minutes of action. When the judges’ decision came in, the verdict was in favor of Bang by split decision (29-28, 29, 28, 28-29).

They said it:
Tae Hyun Bang: “I'm very happy to have won in Korea. Leo was persistent, and combative. Happy to bring a win to the home fans”
Leo Kuntz: “That was a great fight, we were both really tired, I think he was more tired than me. We both went at it with everything we had but he got the nod so that's how it went.”

Seohee Ham defeats Cortney Casey

What a fight! Lots of back-and-forth action, especially as time went on. But after three rounds, all the judges scored it the same in favor of hometown favorite Seohee Ham (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). Casey was definitely the stronger fighter in the 1st Round, but from there on Ham had the slight edge in the remaining rounds in what was truly a back-and-forth affair.

They said it:
Seohee Ham: "Finally what I had wished for has finally come true. It especially feels great since this is the first UFC fight in Korea.”
Cortney Casey: “That was a great fight, it was awesome, even though I’m disappointed about the result. Ham is tough and we knew what she was coming with so we prepared for that”

Fredy Serrano defeats Yao Zhikui
WOW – that was quick momentum change! Zhikui came out swinging, but Serrano was able to slam him to the ground and Zhikui injured his arm when he hit the ground. The referee ran in to stop the fight and the Colombian Serrano got the TKO win 44 seconds into the 1st Round.

They said it:
Fredy Serrano: “I was really surprised when the fight ended so suddenly, I was prepared to go three rounds, but sometimes that happens. Sometimes you go three rounds, sometimes it ends in one.”

Marco Beltran defeats Ning Guangyou

The two alums from international editions of The Ultimate Fighter went the distance – a 15 minute clash that was notable for a late flurry as the pair tried to sway the judges. It was a tough fight to score, but in the end the decision went to Beltran in a split manner (29-28, 29-28, 28-29).

Marco Beltran: “Wow, that was a really tough fight. Ning Guang You is a tough opponent. But my team trained me hard for this and I felt really prepared for the fight.”

Dominique Steele defeats Dong Hyun Kim
Dominique Steele showed some explosive power to kick off today’s fight card! After trading blows in the first round and then taking control in the second, Steele finished the job against “Maestro” Kim up when he picked him up and slammed him hard to the mat before using elbows to seal the deal before the referee stepped in to call the fight 27 seconds into the final stanza for the KO victory.

Dominique Steele: ”Wow that was awesome, I love Korea, I’m Crimped!”
