The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Rio de Janeiro on August 3 at HSBC Arena, with the featherweight title fight between champion Jose Aldo and challenger Anthony Pettis. UFC fans will also have the chance to watch former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida for the first time in Brazil, when he faces wrestler Phil Davis.
Also on the card, Demian Maia will look to stay unbeaten at welterweight as he takes on former title challenger Josh Koscheck. Plus, the first UFC women's bantamweight bout on Brazilian soil will take place, as Salvador native Amanda Nunes meets fellow striker Sheila Gaff.
UFC 163 marks Aldo's return to Rio de Janeiro, where he famously ran into the crowd after a first-round knockout of Chad Mendes at UFC Rio 2 in January 2012. More recently, Aldo defended his title at UFC 156 with a unanimous decision over former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
