TRAINING: In the morning we study technique, and in the evening we’ve got either Muay Thai, wrestling or BJJ sparring. On the weekends we do straight MMA sparring on both days.
When and why did you start training for fighting? My dad is a karate instructor, so I guess I had fighting in my blood. I started training seriously when I was 14.
Do you have any heroes? My dad is my hero. I also like Jackie Chan a lot.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? This is a huge opportunity for me! At this point in my career, it was either I got the chance to fight in the UFC, or I would have quit MMA altogether to try my hand at professional boxing. I’m super happy it has worked out like that!
What was your job before you started fighting? I’m a Natural Health Professional as well as the Kids’ Instructor at my gym.
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? All of my wins have come inside the first round, six by knockout, four by submission.
