Nissen Osterneck

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started Karate at an early age and was always fascinated with martial arts movies. I started Jiu Jitsu shortly after watching the first few UFCs, when Royce dominated the competition. After competing in Jiu-Jitsu for a few years, I felt there was something missing and began cross training Muay Thai with World Champion Maurice Travis. I love to compete and MMA is my sport.

What ranks and titles have you held? Brown Belt under Relson Gracie. Submitted 13 people in one day winning the 2005 Gracie Nationals.

Do you have any heroes? Those in the United States military who make such unbelievable sacrifices for the safety and prosperity of our country.

What is your favorite technique? Flying Go-Go

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? The UFC offers competition at the highest level and I am honored to be a part of this organization.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? Graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a BA in the Science of Business Administration and Marketing.

What was your job before you started fighting? I still maintain my jobs as part owner/instructor of The Dojo World Team Martial Arts center, Maui-Myrtle Surf School owner, Real estate agent, developer, co founder of bringusadeal.com and co-host of the International Martial Arts Network IMANTV.tv
